Normobaric Chamber

The evolution from empirical oxygen therapy to that in the general hyperbaric chamber is explained up to 2002 when the chamber for localized oxygen therapy comes onto the market.
Until 2002 oxygen therapy in normobarism was utilized largely in public and private hospital and university institutions. It was used in general surgery departments and vascular and dermatological surgery.
This therapy was used in a manner more empirical and less scientific putting the limb concerned in a plastic bag and introducing in the bag a non-determinable flow of oxygen closed with an elastic band. The concentration of oxygen was not measurable just as the humidity and pressure were not measurable. There were no scientific elements since the conditions of therapy were not measurable or standardized.
